No Words, Just Vibes

Ok, I realize I’ve been slacking. No posts in the new year? I guess I’ve gotten a little too comfortable with updating you via newsletter on my reading, writing, and general goings-on.

As the title connotes, this won’t be much better, but I thought I’d get the blog post ball rolling with some photos from my recent Euro-Adventure. After a work conference in Bologna, Italy, I headed to Budapest for my first Hungarian experiences and rounded out my little tour with a visit to Florence, where I got to enjoy some of the best Gluten Free food I’ve ever had. (Shout out to the Italian Government’s Celiac Foundation!)

The vacation was a lot of exploring, walking around various markets, bookstores, and neighborhoods, and as we walked we classified multiple countries based on whether they were more:

  • tea or coffee

  • olive oil or butter

  • beer or wine

We found that (at least among the places we have visited) these identifiers helped us to track a surface-level type of culture via food and drink. We couldn’t, however, come up with another category that worked, so if you can think of one…let me know. Maybe spicy or sweet?

Unsurprisingly, I was romanced by the way of life in Europe, the mini burrata balls, and the unassuming charm around every street corner, etc. I returned to the US with a back-pocket-plan to move to the EU…only to find myself quite at home in my Brooklyn apartment with all my plants.

Anyway, here are some photos from my adventures! I’m looking forward to posting more as the spring and summer get rolling.
